real.
Hi,
I have recently
been diagnosed with a subarachnoid cyst on the right frontal lobe of my
brain with associated skull thinning. I have suffered from migraines for
8 years and requested from my physician to have an MRI done just to be sure
that everything in my brain was fine.
Much to my dismay this was not the case. I also suffered from small muscle
tremors, my thought processes were not always clear, and several other
symptoms that were inexplicable (i.e. waking up with pressure headaches
everyday etc.etc.)
Upon receiving this diagnosis, I went to a neurosurgeon to find out my
options for treatment and was informed that I was born with this (which
I don't entirely agree) and that it was "nothing" to worry
about and to go on with life.
I cannot fathom how anyone can have a cyst on the brain centimeters in
size and it be "nothing". The brain is in a very high pressure,
high complex environment. How this is so easily dismissed is an anomoly
to me.
And even more disconcerning is this: I work in a teaching hospital! No
one is willing to research this. Or at least this is how it appears to me.
I can not even get my primary care to refer me to a neurologist.
How sad the health care system can dismiss us. Or is it just laziness??
Thanks for listening.
