100+ other people know it's not "all in your head" Please join me in keeping it real.

I have had several "mild sprains" and "pulled muscles" in the thorasic back area. After each occurance, I begin to suffer with severe migraines and tension in the neck area. Recently I sustained a fall in early May of 2003. Prior to the fall I had been experiencing mild to
moderate migraines at periods of one to two weeks apart.

My Primary Care Physician diagnosed these as tension related migraines and treated me with a combination of Fiorcet and Flexeril. These meds, while releiving some pain had no true effect on the migraines.

A Nurse Practicioner referred me to a Neurosugeon in July because she felt the headaches were a result of a pinched nerve. After two attempts to obtain an MRI (the insurance company denied the first request) of the cervical spine the results showed the tip of a cyst at C7-T1.

Another MRI of the Thorasic spine indicated that the cyst extended from C7-T10 with a smaller cyst forming at T5-T6. Spinal cord compression is most present in this area. The Neurosugeon called it an arachnoid cyst.

What I'd like to know is if this cyst could rupture, if so, could another fall such as slipping and falling on my behind rupture it and do you feel that this cyst is caused by such a fall. The ONLY real back injury I have ever sustained was from an automobile accident in 1978 at
which time I had a concussion, three broken ribs at T5-T6 and a fractured maxillary occiptal bone. The ribs were cracked at the sternum and one displaced.

Could this be the initial injury or what?

My Doctor is unable/unwilling to give me even an approximate timeline for the injury. Someone Please Help me to better understand this and what options I have!
