100+ other people know it's not "all in your head" Please join me in keeping it real.

Hi im Andrew 28 years old from Wales in U.K.I have a right temporal lobe Arachnoid Cyst.I started to get symptons with it at the start of 2001

i had a pulsating noise on the right sight of my head which made it difficult to sleep and i started to sweat a lot at times it gets really bad it drips off my hair and off my face its really embarassing. Then i gruadually got more problems i started get spots in front of my eyes, vomitting every morning, neck and shoulder pain, loss of feeling in hands and feet and was feeling exhausted all
the time.

My work started to really suffer and from May 2002 i have not worked at all as i was struggling to cope with it the pressure headaches were getting worse all the time. Its really runing my life and i need to get it sorted so i can lead a normal life again.

At first when i went to see my GP they thought i may have sinusitis but after seeing a ENT consultant nothing showed up so i went for a brain scan which showed up my cyst.Of course at the time the
Neurosurgeon refused to believe this was the cause of my problems.

And said an operation would be far to much risk as the chances are i wont feel any better after it so he referred me to a Neurologist who tried me on various medications all of which failed to make much difference to how i was feeling.

As time as gone on ive been feeling more and more depressed and it hasnt been helped by the
way the consultants have been when ive seen them, they dont give me much encourgement that i will soon feel better.Ive feel had thoughts of suicide at times this year.

I decided to make another private appointment with my Neurosurgeon in April and saw him for a consultation on 30th of April and for the first time in ages i got some positive news.He finally seemed to agree that the Cyst was the cause of my symptoms and that an operation would be best and gave me a date for it of 23rd of June this year. This was the best news i could have but that he dashed my hopes last Friday say he had spoken to another colleague of his and they had decided they still were not convinced that the cyst was causing my problems and wanted to explore other options and told to i would be going to see a consultant at a "facial pain clinic".

Have you ever heard of such a clinic before and if so is it any good or likely as i suspect to be a waste of time and the N/s is just passing the buck. They really seem to be doing their best to annoy me and i cant put up with much more of them messing me about.Im sure you know exactly how it feels.

My phone number is 447969105633 and my Yahoo is andrew19752003

Thanks for helping all us sufferers out with your group and support
